Watching you...watching us

When opening the hide, I could hear the Pine martens, but they were always just out of sight. On return to the cabin I was able to watch them closely (via the cameras) as they playfully chased each other over and under the hide. Running in circles chasing tails....then they ventured into the hide and cheekily popped their heads onto the window sill and looked out. Appears we have 2 young pine martens.
The Red squirrels are always munching on the peanuts or delicately splitting the sunflower seed at both the hide and visitor centre. Jays regularly visit the feeders, swinging on the squirrel rope.

The explosion of woodland birds continues as more and more siskins, coal tits etc. are appearing. We even had a visit from a female common crossbill. What a bonnie bird!.

Our pair of peregrines are always around in the quarry, although not very active. They are often perched on favoured sites like the bleached tree stump, the cubby hole or the camera on the eyrie (favoured at the moment by the male).

Visitors local and from all over the world have been enthralled by the wildlife and views. Also enjoying the conversation with others in the hide. Stories and experiences shared. Never a dull moment at the wild watch.
