Summer's here

Well the school summer holidays are finally here and yesterday was the first of our Junior Peregrine Investigators and Nature Detectives sessions.

The theme was tracks and trails and activities included matching the animal to its paw, hoof or foot print, and orienteering identifying prints along the route. Also the groups set trails for each other to follow making marker symbols from sticks, stones and flour. Some very novel flour imprints were made by one group using a hair band, hands and even their faces! There were some very white- faced girls being collected by Mums at the end of the session.

The sessions run each Tuesday up to and including 9th August with a different theme and activities each week. Future themes include Camouflage- can you become invisible and how different animals camouflage themselves, Nature’s Art Attack – make green wood men, dreamcatchers and head dresses, Minibeasts- featuring everyone’s favourite- pond dipping and lots, lots more.

So- why not come along and join the fun. Sessions are from 10am to 11am for Junior Peregrine Investigators, cost £5 for the series and from 12 noon to 2pm for Nature Detectives, cost £10 for the series.

Hope to see you soon.
