We had a great bunch of children today from Kennethmont primary school who helped us clear some birch trees whilst making shelters. We tested their shelters with a bucket of water and only 2 were almost waterproof...so a few soggy kids.
The peregrines really do not like the wet weather, spending most of the day hiding in wee cubby holes in the quarry face. Jays were photographed at the feeders outside the top hide, as were young squirrels. The site is alive with woodland birds, especially siskins and young great tits.
