Last Friday was a gloriously sunny day here in Aberdeenshire affording spectacular views of the surrounding countryside from the top of the hill near the hide entrance. It has been so warm that the peregrines have alternated between basking in the sun and seeking a bit of shade and respite.
All across the site there are beautiful wild flowers in bloom with a profusion of bugle on the go at the moment and a really good number of foxgloves just starting to open.
There are lots of juvenile birds calling pleadingly to parents for food. A family of five great tit fledglings have been clamouring all afternoon out behind the cabin to be fed while a young siskin sat more quietly but with wings all a flutter and a juvenile robin hopped about the path not too far from me as I walked along.
Not sure we can guarantee continuing bright sunshine but there is always plenty to see so come along and have a look.
